We
grade from the Aiwakai Karate-do Federation syllabus. We have approximately
2 gradings a year. Those wishing to grade or compete must hold an up-to-date
licence.
As well as the grading syllabus we practice competition work, kata and Kumite
(fighting). We also practice self-defense skills, knife/sword work, throws,
wrestling, locks, board breaking and conditioning.
Fighting takes place in a controlled environment were the students should
wear protective pads on their hands and other protective equipment if they
choose to.
